Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report
Offshore Kid's Fishing Day
Saturday i had the pleasure of doing the one thing i love he most, taking kids fishing. We left the dock at about 9am with a well full of bait, frozen squid, and frozen shrimp. We ran out to Fowey Light and anchored up in about 80ft of water. i threw out the chum bag, and a couple of livies on the surface. Jack dropped a chicken rig to the bottom with some squid chunks. Immediatly he was on! He crancked up 2 small yellowtails with a huge smile on his face! We ended the day catching over 200 yellowtails, grunts, mangroves, small groupers, and 7 kingfish! What a blast! Guys dont forget about your kids! They love to fish just as much as you do! We dont have to take them out to catch sailfish, swordfish, or dolphin, just simply keeping the lines tight all day does the trick. I love doing this kind of fishing. Just watching the smiles on the kids faces when they pull up 1-2 fish at a time, no matter what size or species it is they always have a huge smile!
I have quite a few days open this month for sailfishing and swordfishing if the weather lets us. Sailfishing is still pretty good if you can find good current and blue water. Kings are here in shallow, and there are plenty of dolphin around. So lets get out there and catch some fish!
Tightlines,
Capt Joe
