Key Largo Backcountry Fishing-8/24/09

Capt. Bob Fernicola
August 24, 2009
Key Largo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Just got back yesterday after fly fishing cuts in the snake river near grand teton in Wyoming for the past month and checked out the backcountry today to see whats up.Started out on shoreline points with top water and gulp lures and found lots of snook in the 24" to 28" range and they were hungry.constant action on lures for like 2 hours on one spot.Nice mangrove snapper, jack and a few baby tarpon running the bank as well. After the action slowed I spotted a few muds out in the open water and was in it again with trout, ladyfish and more jacks. We fished for about 5 hour and saw no other boats and landed a ton of fish.Backwater is doing better then when I left in early July, a great first day fishing back to Key Largo

Tight lines Capt.Bob
