Key Largo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Key Largo Fishing Charters. Fishing off Key Largo has been very good over the past couple weeks. Clients have been booking 1/2 day snapper trips. Dolphin fishing this time of year requires a full or 3/4 day as the fish are 15 plus miles offshore. I do not believe that family fun fishing should be all about catching Yellowtails and Mangrove Snappers. I like to teach kids how to catch a big fish and they love to feel the power of a large fish even if it breaks off! Give the kids the right tools to catch big fish and they will get it done! My gear is customized down including what I have done with fighting belt. I want family trips to very rewarding with big fish. Kids have fun setting rods, keeping them in the action is very important to me.

The dolphin have been biting pretty good as we get closer to the full moon. Few large slammer fish caught this week. I recommend starting your fishing trip in 850 ft this time of year and working out to depths of 1500-2000 ft. A 53 lb fish was caught south of the 409 hump this week.

I have been focused on targeting Mutton Snappers, cobias and groupers. We caught a nice cobia earlier in the week that measured 48 inches.

Now that I am equipped with a Seakeeper 2 our 24 boat fishes like a dock in the middle of the ocean. We are only 24 ft charter boat in United States equipped with a gyro technology. My clients love the Seakeeper 2! The Seakeeper provides the ultimate fishing platform and is a game changer without a doubt so believe the hype cause its the real deal!

Clients caught some nice Mutton Snappers last week. Now that I am caught up, I will start writing my weekly reports again. Thank you reading and have a good weekend!
