Key Largo - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather has finally started cooperating and the fishing has picked up nicely. The trout bite that we missed last year has finally happened and we are enjoying some nice fish in the 3-4 pound range. Fresh baits under popping corks have worked well for these aggressive fish.
The Snook bite has been on fire as well. We have been getting multiple hookups on live baits early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Savy patient anglers have been rewarded with nice filets from these hard fighters.

When the winds have allowed, we have made trips to the patch reefs and caught some nice groupers. We had a young angler on the boat and he put a hurting on a few Gags and Reds.

April will continue to be a busy month, so make sure you book your charters early to ensure you are not standing at the dock without a captain.
