Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

March has been a tough month of fishing as far as the weather is concerned. The first week of March we had gale force winds. The air was still warm, so if you did manage to get out you could catch plenty of barracuda. Finally, the wind subsided and the fishing returned to normal.
There are plenty of bonefish around to be caught on the flats on sunny days. Tarpon, if you were lucky enough to find them, the hungry ones. The permit fishing on the flats was a bit less than average. I don't think March has been great for permit fishing - a few cold fronts and plenty of wind. The permit are around and can be caught, you just have to work for it.
The last several days have been unusually cold - which makes for tough flats fishing. Although I am happy to report we are still having success with barracuda & bonefish.

Tarpon season!!!!!!!!! Coming soon.
