Busy Fishing Season with Lots of Opportunities

Capt. Eric Evans
March 1, 2019
Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

January and February 2019 has been busy. We had some rough seas then very calm seas - seemed like every other day. But that's the good thing about fishing in Key West, Florida. When the winds are high, the backcountry offers much protection and we can still get out fishing catching sharks, snappers, and barracudas. For the ones that wanted to go offshore we continued the good tuna bite in the afternoon. We also had a decent mahi bite that kept up even now as February came to an end. The water and air temperature has improved dramatically and we are seeing 80 degree days with light winds - making it perfect to get out and enjoy the waters off Key West.
