Fish and Lobster

Capt. Eric Evans
August 1, 2018
Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

Plenty of fish to be had the last couple of months. The swordfish bite has been good and the goliath grouper fishing for the anglers that want a fight is off the charts! Offshore has been slowing down a bit, so not as many dolphin coming in as we all would like. On those tougher days, usually we end up trying to target the deep sea fish like tilefish and grouper. Again, these make excellent meals and some say taste like lobster!

Speaking of Lobster, we just got done with the 2018 mini season. We had a great two days limiting out then hitting the reef for some yellowtail snapper. Lobster regular season opens Aug 6th. We are offering lobster trips this year and have spots that range from 5 feet of water to 20 feet for the more advanced free diver. Since the weather has been so nice and hot, it is a good way to beat the heat and still enjoy time in the water here in Key West!
