Tarpon have been pigging out on palalo worms during the late afternoon and early evening falling tides on the flats during the past several days on the Atlantic side. Here is a nice poon taken on a worm fly.

On a recent day in May we had 5 different Tarpon eat either the Black Death or the Cockroach fly with the water hovering around 83-85F and the winds freshening from 10 kts to 20 kts.

This is a 20 pound Permit caught on a Tarpon fly.
