Matlacha - Saltwater Fishing Report

Tuesday April 5th was a day to remember. I started out the day with a few check marks on the Honey do list and by the my Fiance and I were ready to drop the boat in the water the front was moving in on Matlacha pass. I looked at Sandi and ask if it would bother her getting rained on and with with a quick response of " why would it bother me? I'm not gonna melt" we headed out for a live well full of shiners. I dropped anchor and started chumming the shiners up when the skys opened up. It went from not so bad to blowing like crazy in just a couple minutes. I quickly pulled anchor and headed to a nearby shoreline where we could escape the wind and rain. It blew over pretty quick and we headed back for the bait. Just a few minutes later and a net full of greenbacks she was smiling ear to ear. It was her against me and I was going to show her how it was done. Well needless to say she caught the first fish of the day, a 23 inch snook. It was game on now but she had the luck. next up was a 18 inch trout followed by another under slot trout. I told her we're not heading in until I get on the board. As you all know, things dont always work the way we wish they would, Her rod doubled over and as she laughed at me as she boated a 28 inch snook. I simply looked at Sandi and told her " I know when i've been beatin" Thanks Sandi for another trip to remember. Until next time, your my Heroe.....
