February 2018 Tarpon Fishing Report - Miami, Florida

Capt. Dave Kostyo
February 16, 2018
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

The tarpon action started out very strong at the beginning of February. As we have gotten to the middle of the month, the action has slowed a bit and it takes some hunting and searching to find the fish. We did just that on my last trip and caught and released an 80 pound tarpon. In the meantime, we also caught a total of 15 jack crevalle to 8 pounds, several ladyfish after it got dark, and a kingfish.

If you're willing to fish the proper tide, the action in the bay has been decent. That means that we might have to fish what I refer to as odd ball hours. If you're interested, just give me a call or email me with the date you'd like and I can tell you what hours we'd have to fish.
