Lots of Action Keeps Kids Entertained

Capt. Carlos Mendez
April 7, 2017
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

We have been fishing this week with a lot of families and their kids. Keeping the small ones entertained was paramount and easy with the help of our plentiful bonitas! Mixed in were 4 blackfin tunas, some barracudas as well as some bottom species.

The edge was deeper, in 160' to 180' where there were a few sailfish and some kingfish biting. Against our usual beliefs, we were fishing in the green water, in 90', using dead sardines. It worked well for the kids as they were very entertained hooking up their own baits and throwing the rigs overboard themselves without the aid of the mate.

Fishing was better off Haulover. Some reports were of double digits on sailfish - one boat reported having a big blue fin in their spread.
