Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report
Spring is here in South Florida and it looks like we are going to see summer like temperatures real soon. Every March we see some violent cold fronts push through South Florida but maybe not this year. The Spring Breakers are in town and I have a break in between charters to write this report.
Fishing in South Florida for the most part continues to be good to fair with at least one hour on most trips where the action is red hot. Some of the best action has taken place when the conditions were favorable in the locations we fished that day.
The fishing in North Bay has shown much improvement over the last three weeks. Traveling north into brackish waters my clients have had some red hot action on snook using live pilchards for bait. Mixed in with the snook have been a few tarpon and jack crevalles. Over the grass flats using Hookup lures tipped with Gulp shrimp and pilchards fished under a Cajun Thunder float my client5s have been catching sea trout to 18 inches , barracudas, jacks and a few bluefish. We have been hooking the pilchards to a #4 Mustad Ultra Point hook and to Mustad longshank hooks.
South Bay has seen a few snook, lots of barracudas; a few groupers and jacks come over the rail.
I have not fished offshore due to some very windy days.
Flamingo has been red hot when the winds are down and challenging when the winds have been up.
Calmer weather is forecasted for the future so let's go fishing!
All of these catches were made possible with the use of Daiwa spinning reels, Key Largo spinning rods, Mustad hooks, Cajun Thunder floats, Rapala artificial lures, Hookup lures, Cajun Thunder floats, Mirrolures, StowMaster Nets, SaltLife sunglasses, SoftScience shoes, Columbia Sportswear, Continental Trailers, Yamaha Outboards, Bob Hewes Boats, Minn Kota Ulterra trolling motors, Humminbird, Talon, Air Tight bearings and more!
So what are you waiting for? The action is happening now! Best of all I have open dates. Just give me call and let's see what we can do.
Let's set it up today!

Miami Fishing Forecast:
Spring is here and the fishing in South Florida is about to explode. With water temperatures rising sea trout and snook will start their spawning seasons. Bigger fish and bigger numbers of fish! Spanish mackerel, bluefish and kingfish are heading north for the summer. As they pass the Miami area they always provide a months' worth of action. Big jack crevalles will be chasing baitfish schools in North Bay and big tarpon will be stealing baits intended for other fish. Offshore we will see kingfish and Spanish mackerel, bonitos, sailfish, dolphins and blackfin tuna feeding right alongside each other. In Flamingo in Everglades National Park the birds will be leaving but the scenery will always be there and there is always the unbelievable sunrise and sunset pictures. Fishing for snook, redfish, snapper, sea trout, tarpon, jacks ladyfish, sharks, tripletail, cobia and more will be as e exciting light tackle fishing as one could wish for.
