North Biscayne Bay Fishing Report

Capt. Alan Sherman
November 8, 2003
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing North Biscayne Bay

with Capt. Alan Sherman

Fishing in North Biscayne Bay continues to be very good. Bait is still in good supply but a little harder to find only because of the clarity of the water. With recent high winds and monsoon rains the water in some places has been very tanic or murky. By locating diving pelicans and running up to where the bird last dove and then throwing my 10' 1/4" mesh West Coast Net blindly I have been able to fill 2 wells with pilchards and sardines. With these baits we have done very good on snook to 30"s, jack crevalles to 11 lbs., mangrove snappers, spanish mackeral and juvenile king mackeral. At times the surface of the water has been erupting all around us enabling us to get some exciting strikes on surface plugs like the Rapala Skitter Walk from jack crevalle's and spanish mackeral. Do yourself a favor and get out on the water before the next cold front hits and see for yourself.
