Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

FISHING NORTH & SOUTH BISCAYNE BAY, OFFSHORE & FLAMINGO
with CAPT. ALAN SHERMAN
Despite windy conditions fishing in North Biscayne Bay has been very good for catch and release speckled sea trout fishing. Many of the fish have been over the 15 inch minimum size limit with many over the 20 inch maximum size limit. Sea trout season reopens on January 1st. Spanish mackerel, jack crevallend mangrove snapper have also been biting good in the bay. Live pilchards have been hard to come by but the live shrimp that I have been buying in the tackle shops have been large. South Biscayne Bay fishing in the finger channels has been good as well. Lots of small mutton snappers with a few over the 16 inch minimum size limit plus red grouper to 18 inches and small black grouper. Bluerunners, bluefish, grunts and small sharks have added to the excitement. Flamingo fishing continues stay good for redfish, snook, sheepshead, black drum, Spanish mackerel, bluefish and a few cobias. Offshore fishing has beegood for king mackerel, cobia, dolphin and sailfish.
