Fishing Report for Miami, Florida

Capt. Bouncer Smith
December 8, 2002
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

We didn’t do much fishing over the last couple weeks. We had some tarpon action

last weekend at night using shrimp along South Beach. We caught 1 about 40

pounds and then fought one about 150 pounds for 1 hour and 45 minutes before

losing him. The next night we had 3 strikes, but they all got away.

We have been blown out for about 6 swordfish trips in a row. The one trip we

fished, it was 7 to 10 foot and miserable. We caught 1 shark about 100 pounds.

Now for the good news. Business has picked up right along with the fishing.

Yesterday we got 3 out of 4 sailfish, a couple small dolphin and several king

mackerel. Today we had 3 dolphin from 15 to 20 pounds and a small shark.

Hopefully, with the season upon us and the action picking up, we will have great

fishing reports through the winter and spring seasons. Be sure to book your trips

early as the season is filling fast. Happy Holidays, good health and thank you for a

great year, Bouncer
