Fishing Report for Miami, Florida

Capt. Bouncer Smith
January 19, 2003
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

What a good week for fishing. On Monday Rob Cohen fished with me by himself.

He caught 32 king mackerel on 8 pound test while using live pilchards on 2/0 hooks

and 15 inches of #3 wire. We were anchored in 85 feet of water off Government

Cut. In the afternoon, he jumped off a sailfish and got a dolphin in 120 feet of water

on live herring. We also fished Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday . Thursday we

got 7 sailfish out of 7 we saw and the other days produced a couple sailfish each.

One of the sailfish we caught on Sunday had been tagged in the past and we are

sending the data to the Billfish Foundation.

On the 22nd I will be doing a Swordfish seminar at the West Palm Beach Fishing

club. On February 1st and March 15th I will be appearing on Mark Sosin’s Salt

Water Journal at 10:00 AM EST
