Fishing Report for Miami, Florida

Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing is hot! Over the last week we had at least 2 sailfish every day. Our best day was 8 sails. The top day for
dolphin was 60 fish released. Our biggest dolphin of the week was a 20 pounder today on 10 pound spin with a
pilchard jig. King mackerel are hitting. Our biggest this week was today at 35 pounds ( estimated weight and
released).
Today’s total on Bouncer’s Dusky 33 with 2 anglers was 1 large barracuda, 1 snapper, 15 big bonitos, 6 kings
to 35 pounds, 6 dolphin to 20 pounds, 2 out of 3 sailfish and tarpon of approximately 50 and 100 pounds. Of that 2
dolphin and the snapper were kept for eating while the rest were released. Most of the fish were caught on live
sardines. The big dolphin, several smaller dolphin and a couple bonitos were caught while casting artificial lures.
We had 4 anglers capture and release 5 “Gold Coast Grand Slam”s this week. One guy had slams on 2
consecutive days and 2 days produced 2 anglers catching slams the same day. This slam is accomplished by
catching and releasing a sailfish, dolphin and tarpon in one day.
You should be planning your summer trips now. Bahamas trips and swordfish trips will soon be filling the
calendar spots for the summer. We don’t want you to miss out on your trip aboard Bouncer’s Dusky 33, so contact
us soon. By the way, a couple dates to remember. the 15th of March we will be seen on TNN at 10 AM EST
fishing with Mark Sosin’s Salt Water Journal and March 20th we will be giving a seminar on kingfish, tuna and
wahoo at Dusky Sport Center (954-922-8890).
