Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

It has been a good week for fishing and catching. The weather has been good and the fish hungry. We had a morning on Monday when it was king mackerel as fast as the lines went out. Some were up to 37 pounds. We also got a sailfish and some false albacore. Monday evening we got a 120 pound tarpon at Government Cut.
Friday night we had a 11 year old who watched his Grandpa catch a sailfish, and then went to work catching tarpon of 60 and 70 pounds himself. Saturday the 3 generations of Governor got 3 sailfish, a bunch of king mackerel to 35 pounds, bonitos, barracuda and dolphin.
Tuesday we went 15 miles offshore in the morning and hit 2 schools of dolphin boating about 20 up to 7 pounds. In the afternoon, we got a mess of snapper and grouper plus 2 big amberjack.
Wednesday we had a great afternoon after a slow start. The morning brought 2 kings and a couple bonitos. The afternoon produced 2 sailfish, 2 dolphin of 8 and 25 pounds, a big barracuda and several more bonitos. The evening trip produced 3 of 4 sailfish and 2 king mackerel. All the sails etc. have been caught in 100 to 160 feet of water off Key Biscayne while fishing with live bait.
