Miami - Haulover to Fowey Light

Capt. Dean Panos
August 14, 2000
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Although the summer doldrums should have set in, fishing remains pretty good. I've been on vacation and in the Bahamas for the last week and a half, so the local report is from the other captains and anglers I have spoken to.

Dolphin fishing has been spotty. Most of the fish have been in on the edge, and the trips offshore have resulted in a high gas bill and not too many fish. The fish found have been bigger than average schoolies.

The kingfish bite in the morning has been OK and the reef is loaded with bonitas. Bait has been good during the day, but spotty at night. With the upcoming full moon and the backside of the moon, the swordfishing should remain real good.

If you have any fish stories, send over an e-mail. Would love to here from you!

Tight Lines and Good Fishing,

Capt. Dean Panos
