Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report
Tarpon, Tarpon, Tarpon
That has been the word for us for the past couple of weeks. Hard to believe that tarpon fishing could be this good this late in June. With the season coming to an end, I have had a rush on Tarpon trips as people scramble to catch the last Tarpon of the season here in Miami.
Here is a quick recap of what we caught, our best trip was 3/3. That was 3/3 where the smallest fish was over 100#’s and the largest was at 130#’s. With fish this size being caught in 15-20ft. of water, things can get mighty exciting. Out of 5 Tarpon trips we caught fish on every trip including one trip that we did in the middle of a tropical depression. Those are some hardcore anglers! I have been having good luck with Eagle Claw EL 2004 8/0 circle hooks, check out these hooks next time you go Tarpon fishing.
On a final note I would like to thank everyone who fished with me this year on board the Lucky 27. I look forward to fishing with you next year. So, as the summer rolls around we turn our sights to Dolphin fishing and Sword fishing. So give me a call and lets make some new memories.
