Miami - Haulover to Triumph Reef

Capt. Gil Gutierrez
December 12, 2006
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Sails and Mahi

Continuing strong northerly and easterly breezes are pushing mahi- mahi and sailfish our way. We have had strong winds from the northerly quadrant and that has sparked a decent sailfish bite. The only problem has been finding a day when it wasn’t blowing 25 knots and seas were at least tolerable so that we could go fishing. When you did brave the elements you were rewarded with decent action on the edge.

The winds then turned and started to blow from the east and the dolphin started to show up in decent numbers. There have also been reports of tarpon on the beaches and I should be able to confirm this by next week so stay tuned those of you that have called looking for tarpon and I should have an answer for you shortly.

Well that is it for now. Give me a call and let’s go fishing.

Thanks

Capt.Gil
