Silver King Still King!

Capt. Steven Tejera
January 26, 2009
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

The night time tarpon bite is going off right now! With plenty of shrimp moving through the
inlets, bridges and channels the tarpon are taking full advantage. We have been hooking
into plenty of fish with some toe to toe battles, most resulting with the silver king as the champ. Your best bet is to fish them on the outgoing tide when the shrimp are being pushed out and the poons are taking advantage. A jumbo shrimp freelined or on a jig head has been doing the trick. Just remember if anchoring to have a float/buoy attached to your anchor rope so you can go after a big fish and do so quickly.

More Fishing Reports:

Light Tackle Sportfishing at it's best. Fish South Biscayne Bay, Key Largo or Flamingo for Redfish-Snook-Tarpon-Bonefish-Permit-Seatrout.
