Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

Spring time is by far my favorite time of the year to be on the water. Although you have to pick your days the variety of fish species that we target in South Florida seems endless.
In the last few weeks I've had a couple of very productive trip. The first trip was with Rick, we started our day by loading up on Pilchards on the flats off Venetian Causeway and Herrin at the Range Mark off Government Cut. We fished just North of Fowey Rocks and had an action filled day catching six different species. We caught a 42lbs. Cobia, 6 Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi), 3 Kingfish, 1 Sailfish, 4 Bonitos and a Mutton Snapper.
The second trip was with Nilo and his childhood friend. On this day the Pilchards were very hard to find so I decided to save time and buy some from Frank (Ashley Live Bait). Then we hit the Pilot House for some Herrin and ended up with 3 dozen and a few Ballyhoo. We fished the same area as before and it paid off. The catch consisted of 5 Kingfish, 2 Mutton Snappers, 2 big Porgies and a big Yellowtail Snapper.
Miami Fishing Forecast:

We can expect good catches of Cobia, Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi), Kingfish and Snappers to continue through May. If you have any questions or interested in enjoying a day of fishing with friends and family give me a call. I still have plenty of dates available for April and May.
Target Species:

Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi), Kingfish, Snapper, Cobia
