Windy Weather And Good Dolphin/Mahi Fishing

Capt. Dave Kostyo
October 24, 2015
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

For over a week, the seas have been windy and bumpy. Today, however, the seas came down a little and the dolphin/mahi bit real good.

We started the day by netting some pilchards first thing in the morning. With bait accomplished, we took our time working out to the fishing grounds.

As I was putting out the first bait, it got hit immediately. Next we slow trolled two pilchards and hooked up 2 nice size dolphin/mahi. Put two more baits in the water and 2 more dolphin/mahi. Set up a drift and caught another mahi. Another drift and another mahi. Then the fish vacated the area.

After another drift, the group decided they had plenty enough fish and didn't want to get beat up anymore. Total time with baits in the water - 2.5 hours. Total dolphin/mahi caught was six (6).
