Calling all trout

Capt. Joe Porcelli

Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

. Trout is the game most anglers are fishing for now with pigfish and Gulp, my go to bait is the chartreuse Jerk Shad . Work them on the bottom with a eighth ounce jig head when you are fishing in three feet or deeper. You will also catch some bluefish jacks and ladyfish in the mix fishing this way.

The reds have been stacked up and with the proper approach they will eat most of the time. This time of the year the pin and pig fish are so thick your shrimp will only last twelve seconds. That is why I use so much Berkley Gulp and Power bait instead of shrimp. The piranhas will not tear the Gulp up but will pick at it for quite some time. When the pin and pigfish are trying to eat it the reds move in on the frenzy and want to get some, And they do! I can not tell you how many times this will happen. Tarpon and cobia are off shore and tarpon are inshore as well. Remember think like a fish to catch fish or just call me and I will guarantee it. 386 314 5656
