Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Weather has been the main factor affecting the fishing here in east central Florida. It appears the calm days of summer left early this year. Clouds, wind and more clouds have taken their place.
On the best weather day of last week, the fishing and catching was excellent. With a full moon still visible as I arrived at spot one, the redfish were crashing mullet. I caught several on an EP Mullet style fly and left them biting. Spot two was holding dozens of small tarpon which were more than willing to attack various flies as they rolled in 2 feet of water. I had lots of bites, jumped 10 and landed 6. A few more redfish, a trout, and 3 jacks were caught even though they say fish don't bite on the full moon.
Friday, the wind was howling and the tarpon were nowhere to be found. I spent more time taking pictures than fishing. This week looks to be more of the same with winds over 20k by mid week.
When the winds subside, the fishing should be very good. The lagoon is full of mullet of all sizes and the fish will be stuffing themselves all month.
Target Species:

Redfish, Seatrout, Tarpon
