Mosquito Lagoon Fishing Report 3-23-2013...

Capt. Randy Kraft
March 26, 2013
Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Topwater worked well with this warm weather and turned on early dawn! Topwater fishing is generally thought of as producing best on warm, calm, shallow water on overcast days or during the low light periods of dawn & dusk. Topwater lures are working very well for some nice trout. Redfishing... Slot sized schools from five to ten and some up to twenty and thirty are roaming many shallow water grass flats all through out the entire Mosquito Lagoon. Almost every day has been a little different...Four inch soft plastics have produced in good numbers like Grandslam Baits paddle tail swimming mullet rigged weedless with a 5/0 swimbait hook, typically with 1/8 ounce Owner Twist Lock and gulp has turned up some noses with not many bites. Live shrimp worked well today. Live mullet and pinfish work great later as the day rolls on and on windy days to come.Trophy Mosquito Lagoon Redfish still roam the sand bars but move around to many other sand bars and can be found... Live cut baits will get the job done when you have located the school of up to fifty fish...Catch'em up and "Tug on it"!!!

Target Species:

Redfish & Trout
