Well had the chance, despite the recent high winds, to get out the past several days not only with clients but to hit the flats myself in search of some tailing red fish.

The lagoon has most definitely cleared up as far as water clarity but water levels are still high. Some of the areas we fished the water was crystal clear and some of the other areas the visibility was not so clear. Several of the redfish were being caught on the DOA Shrimp in the Nite Glow(305)pattern. As soon as the fish were sighted and a well placed cast was made the reds were on it in an instant. We also landed numerous fish using the CALS as well. we also landed several trout as well.

It seems that the water levels are also higher than normal but should be dropping soon. Along with it dropping the water clarity will improve as winter approaches.

Please be sure to handle all fish carefully to ensure a safe release. Also remember that trout must be released at this time.

Target Species:

Redfish and Trout
