Ponce Inlet to Mosquito Lagoon

Capt. Joe Porcelli
August 14, 2001
Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week I have seen a few tarpon rolling in the Indian River. Throw a finger mullet or fly in front of the roll and hope for the best. Windy did such a trick and she jumped a hundred-pound plus that ate a strip of jack.

The Lagoon produced some nice fish this week. Sam Cox and Dave from Atlanta watched in amassment while a school of brute reds pushed slowly. Then they came within casting range and were willing to eat. With two bent rods for the next fifteen or twenty minutes it was all laughter in the boat. Some quick photos and a yard and a half stick across their backs then back in the water. They were thirty-eight and forty four inches long. Anglers please take a lot of time reviving these fish to insure their survival.

Remember: Think like a fish to catch fish.
