Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

This past week in the Mosquito Lagoon the reds were up on the flats as well as the deeper water. We started our day today throwing top water plugs at many targets. Even with a perfect cast with the plugs the reds would shy away. Then we tossed a few sea roaches at them (shrimp) and we caught a few. Calvin and Kevin Camble rounder there trip out with four reds six trout and a very nice mangrove that ate a pearl 12 Fathom slam,R.
Chris Abrahamsen got to go fishing on his eighth birthday this week and joining him was his dad Jim and grandpa Bill.
They each got to catch their first red and more along with some trout. The reds ate mullet and the trout fell for the 12 Fathom jigs in pearl and pumpkinseed.
The jacks and ladyfish are still around following the many schools of finger mullet along the Clinkers. Look for showering bait and throw a plastic shad or slam,R at them W/ a quarter ounce jig head.
Remember: Think like a fish to catch fish.
