Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

One of the first questions I asked my Client Gary Ringer was have you ever caught a snook. He said yes, but did not have any keeper size fish to mention. I replied, we will try to change that the tides and moon are perfect. He pitched his shrimp to the old wooden dock and minutes later found him self hooked to a linesider that wanted to cut him off. Gary managed to land his twenty nine-inch snook then we moved on going to the flats. Pulling anchor I said to Gary have you ever caught a slam, he replied no. Then hours later Gary had his slam and then some. Redfish ,trout and a snook. Good Job!
This week has been a little wet but the catching continues. Clients this week joined me in the Mosquito Lagoon for some redfish action. On the way we caught jacks and ladyfish crashing baits in the Indian River. We pulled up to them and tossed 12 Fathom four inch shad bodies at them in pearl with a black back. Sometimes these fish are under rated and do not get the respect that they deserve. Ladyfish scream line and fly out of the water and jacks pull hard. It is a good way for your clients to get a feel for the rod and reel they will be using on the flats.
On the flats Mark Ramey, Derek and Dave caught about ten or more redfish on a verity of baits. They had several that were on the twenty seven-inch mark. For catching charters call toll free 877-463-5287
Remember: Think like a fish to catch fish.
