Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Just got off the water about an hour ago, I had to go check out one of my black drum fish holes. The water has been so low the past few months I have not been able to access the hole. The red drum were more active than the blacks so we ended up catching a five to one ratio in the hole. We were using dead shrimp casting under the mangroves. We also caught trout one more fish that belongs to the croaker family.
Yesterday I fished a half-day and had Jerry and Kay Bloom out for a beautiful morning. I stopped at the first spot to fish after only running five minutes from the dock. The guys hooked up on the first or second cast, we took five reds in about ten minutes. I said lets move to some bigger and better action they just looked at me like how could the action get any better. I fired up and ran for a minute then shut down and instructed them to look ahead of the boat. As I eased up on the fish they began to see the redfish tails pop out of the water. I told them your are seeing about thirty tails out of about a hundred and fifty fish. We all cast and had a triple-header on instantly; we took several more from the school and went looking for trout. We ended up catching twenty-three reds and ten trout on 12 fathom jigs.
