Mosquito Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Wow what a week of catching it has been. The trout thought the catch of the day was pigfish so they have been taking advantage of the entree. Wes and Adam caught some very respectable trout this past Saturday even when they were trying to sight cast to a school of tailing redfish. I call these gator trout school keepers, they monitor the school of reds and when bait flushes from the schools path the trout nail the baitfish.
Some of the schools of reds we have been fishing have been bulls ranging from thirty-eight inches to fifty inches. These big reds need extra special handling when photographing and reviving. Give them a lot of time when you walk them, besides they were nice enough to give you a thrill of a life time. These big fish like a lot of offerings like pigfish; sailors choice, mullet and blue crabs are some of the natural baits. In the artificial department we have been taking them on 12 Fathom four inch shad bodies. But there is nothing like seeing a bull red knock a top water plug out of the water.
Remember: Think like a fish to catch fish.
