Backcountry Kayak Adventure

Naples - Freshwater Fishing Report

Spent the last few days fishing the brackish backwaters along the Tamiami Trail. A variety of fish were caught from large jacks and sheepshead to snook, redfish and juvenile tarpon. We posted up along areas with deep holes and heavy structure on the mid outgoing tide. Most fish were caught sight casting as we staked out along bars waiting for fish to pass by us with the outgoing tide. Dozens of schools of snook, jacks and snapper were intercepted by us as we casted to these passing fish, some even hiding out under our kayaks for structure. These fish see no pressure in this remote area I've been guiding recently and are in these backwaters year round.
