Capt. Michael Avinon

Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well I have fished 14 of the last 16 days anywhere from naples bay to 70 miles offshore and the fishing continues to be excellent. On the 12th we fished in the mako in the bay and caught snook to 8pds. and then stumbled across a school of tarpon on the beach. The water was pure mud but it didnt stop us from trying to get a bite.Forty five minutes and 30 fish later and still no bite so we called it a day.We fished a half on tues and thurs on tues 3 keeper reds and a king.On thurs 5 keeper gags and 6 goliath grouper to 80pds.On wed we fished a full day offshore and caught a limit of red groupers to 12pds and a 30"gag to boot. Then we fished for amberjacks and yellowtails and did well on both ,15 tails and 3 keeper ajs to 30pds.Sat-mon we ran a two night trip and caught 19 red snappers to 12pds and 24 keeper groupers to 28pds.Finally today we fished the pass and went one for two on over the slot snook with one fish going 33".We finished the day off on a lazy high tide with a few snook between 20 and 27" and spanish.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

The tide should be falling most of the day and it should make for a good bite all morning thru mid afternoon.Im fishing the bay in the mako tommorrow and offshore in the torres on friday on a full day. Were coming up on a full moon that always makes the red groupers go goofy so get offshore.

More Fishing Reports:
