NO MORE COLD WEATHER

Capt. Michael Avinon
March 16, 2010
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hopefully we have finally turned the corner on this cold rough winter. We have already cancelled 8 of the first 15 days in March and fished in the swell today.Last thurs. we probably had one of our toughest days of the year the wind and tide were working against us all day then to top things off we lost anchor around lunchtime. All you can do at this point is just have a good time and ride out the day.No matter what you do or how well you do this fishing thing some days its still fishing not catching. We had great longtime customers who have fished in naples for over 30 years and we had just as much fun then as we have had on some of our biggest days.On friday we snuck a half day in before the wind and caught 24 keeper snappers before the weather came in.Today there was a five foot swell but the fish just didnt care.We caught our limit of snappers on the chumballs and 20 pd spin tackle.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

Grouper season opens April 1 and days are filling up quickly.
