Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

December has started out being a fantastic month to fish. From awesome limits of trout to fighting Kingfish and Bonita along the beaches now is a great time to fish in SWFL. The backcountry fishing has been improving with cooler water temps targeting trout and redfish on the incoming tides in very shallow waters. I like to find troughs between 2-5 feet deep these fish really like to stack up. Snook and big jacks can be found on most mangrove points and throwing out a few scouts can help stimulate the bite.

Tarpon can be found not only in big schools on the beaches but also migrating into the backcountry.

While targeting Kingfish and Bonita don't be surprised to find a big tarpon migrating south on the beaches. The redfish bite has been improving in the backcountry as well and these guys put up an awesome fight.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

With the front that has just passed and water temps beginning to rise again look for the fishing to improve over the next few days. Baits is still available on the beaches and near shore wrecks. So enjoy the weekend and get out there and do some fishing.
