Excellent Naples Fishing

Capt. Chris McCubbin

Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

I am happy to say that the Fall fishing has really heated up the last two weeks. The pilchards in the 3-5in range are all over from the beaches to the wrecks. Look for the birds and you will have no problem finding the bait.
I have mainly been fishing the passes, docks and points with good moving water this past week. The incoming tide has been good in the pass for snook and snapper. Most snook are under slot, but the snapper are still in the 11-15in range if you are looking for dinner. The docks have been producing along with the points on a high outgoing tide. Live chumming has really gotten the redfish going in the back. Mixed in are big jacks and some snook. Just remember not to chum to much or the bite will shut off before it starts. On the docks anchor up current and drift baits back to them. Be prepared the snook have been bigger on the docks and there are some monster jacks mixed in.
Out on the beaches you have got a mixture of tarpon, jacks, bluefish, ladyfish, mackeral and bonita under the birds. The early morning outgoing tide has been loaded with big tarpon from Naples to Ft Myers. I have been using small live ladyfish for them and have had good success. There are also some large sharks mixed in with all the action.
If you are looking to book a charter now is an excellent time in Naples. The weather is cooling down and the fishing is heating up. Give me a call and lets go fishing 239 404 6255
