Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

I have been staying very busy the last three weeks. Fishing here in Naples is really getting good in the backwaters. Bait of choice is still pilchards which I've been getting every morning before the sun comes up in 12-24ft of water. Get on them before the sun comes up or they wil see the net coming with the clear water.
I have been catching most of my redfish in 2-4ft of water around bushes and points with good moving water. Live chumming will really help draw these fish in from down the shoreline. I have also been getting a big fish in the 30in range around the docks, but big jacks have been making it tough to get a bait to the redfish.

Snook seem to be just about everywhere from the docks to nearshore wrecks and everywhere in between. Most fish are in the 24in. range with some fish close to 30in. I have been catching most of the snook on pilchards, but have been getting the bigger fish on big threads first thing in the morning.
The beaches are loaded with spanish mackeral, threads and glass minnows. Tarpon have not shown up in good numbers yet, but with all the bait filling they shouldn't be far behind. To fill the tarpon void there have been some nice blacktips under the bait. The sharks have been in the 3-6ft range. Fishings good and your options are great get out there and get on some fish.
