Fantastic Red Grouper fishing

Capt. Michael Avinon
April 16, 2012
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Since April 1 I have been fishing mainly red groupers and they haven't let me down. The half days are still a little light with 1 to 3 keepers being the norm but on 3/4,full and 12 hour trips the red grouper fishing has been incredible. Most of the full days have been in 80'or deeper and fish over 15pds have been common.I've been fishing around 20 miles on the 3/4 days and catching anywhere from 8 to 15 keepers per trip with fish running 20" to 26".On a 12 hour trip last week we had our limit,16 keeper reds with 8 fish over 15pds.and a limit of amberjacks.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

If the last three summers are any indication the red grouper fishing should only get better and better leading up to the full moon in may.The amberjacks have moved offshore and north to cooler water and there are still a few kings around.

More Fishing Reports:

I have been operating out of Naples for over twenty years and have the spots to prove it.With a range of over 400 miles and the speed to get there quickly the options are endless. We are consistently one of the top producing boats in sw florida, stop by the city dock and see for yourself.
