Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

I have not been out lately due to the wind but when we have gotten out the fishing is really good.I fished a full day last week when the wind stopped blowing and then the next day it started right up again. On our first drop we caught 3 keeper reds to 12pds.Then on our second drop it was all amberjacks keeping 3 for dinner and releasing the rest for another day.On our third drop we caught 6 keeper gags,6 keeper reds and a goliath grouper. With time for one more drop we caught 5 more keeper reds releasing 2.Back at the dock we had 15 keeper groupers and 3 amberjacks.
Naples Fishing Forecast:

Early fall I have always had some of my biggest catches of the year. There are so many different species moving into the area right now that every spot seems to hold fish. The gags have moved in good on select private spots, amberjacks have started to show up in the area, and red groupers are still on every piece of rock from 20 miles on out.Cobia are around but not in numbers we normally see them in and kings should start showing any day now with the water temp dropping.I only have a few days left before gag groupers close and the days just before the full moon are always best. Also today I found out that red groupers will be going to 4 per person as of today,so even though gags are closing we should still be able to keep nice catches of red groupers.
