June Bites In Naples Florida

Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Here in Naples Florida, the action is as hot as the weather! Several species are now taking center stage both shallow and deep with early departures providing the best opportunity to catch.

Out on the nearshore and beyond, artificial wrecks and reefs are producing excellent permit action for my anglers. Free lined live crabs and small yellow jigs fished on 15-20-pound class spinning outfits is my technique of choice.

Anglers can expect permit up to 35-pound when prospecting our waters. Truly an amazing targeted species and angling accomplishment when one is landed. We typically release all our permit catches as it is good stewardship toward a more robust and vibrant fishery.

Closer to shore and in the shallows, snook have been quite active in the passes, along the beaches and within the middle bay systems.

A well placed live scaled-sardine or herring will get the bites. Mixed in with good number of snook, mangrove snapper, jack crevasse and redfish are keeping my anglers hooked up and happy.
