Last few days of gag grouper season

Capt. Michael Avinon
November 7, 2011
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

We have not been offshore lately due to the wind that just wont stop blowing.I did venture offshore 16 miles for a half day thurs. and we caught 5 keeper groupers for dinner and released many throwback size fish along with a couple more keepers. On sunday I ran a full day with a local group and even with the rough weather we still managed a nice catch. On our first spot we put two cobias to 35pds in the box.The next few spots we managed 3 keeper gags to 10pds and several goliath groupers to 40pds.On our last drop of the day we caught 4 keeper amberjacks to 35pds.

Naples Fishing Forecast:

The bite should be really good leading up to the full moon the next few days. Also amberjacks have begun to show up in force on several private spots as well as some of the better known spots.I only have two days left open to catch gag groupers so either set up your day or wait until july1.

More Fishing Reports:

I have been operating out of Naples for over twenty years and have the spots to prove it.With a range of over 400 miles and the speed to get there quickly the options are endless. We are consistently one of the top producing boats in sw florida, stop by the city dock and see for yourself.
