Naples Fishing

Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Jan and Feb have been some pretty hard months to fish with strong winter storms and strong cold fronts. Even with some very challenging conditions fish have been eating. From redfish to sheepshead shrimp and jigs tipped with shrimp are the baits of choice.

Most if not all the pilchards have sneaked offshore awaiting some warmer water temps. Look for trout in troughs and deep mangrove pockets using 3/8oz jigs with gulp, gotcha and shirted bodies tipped with shrimp to help catch these tasty fish. Using live shrimp on a 1/0 circle hook and a split shot cast these into mangrove pockets on the higher tide to battle the redfish cruising the shorelines in search of tiny crustaceans.
