Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing the last few days has been much better than last week. Water temps are rising, bait is still thick on the beaches and nearshore wrecks and we have some good incoming tides in the morning. I have been focusing on snook still around docks, points, passes, and rock walls. Most fish are in the 24-28in range, with some bigger fish lost to docks. Bait of choice is still pilchards fished on 4/0 Owner Mutu Light Circle Hooks. Mixed in with the snook are big jacks, bluefish, gags, and some real nice mangrove snapper. I also managed a few nice redfish this week.
The big news is the arrival of some of my favorite fish tarpon and kingfish. I have been seeing good numbers of tarpon beginning to push up the beaches in the Naples area. Kingfish are on the wrecks and nothing beats a big runner or bluefish slow trolled through the bait pods.
Naples Fishing Forecast:

Tarpon are beginning to show on the beaches in Naples. They aren't in huge numbers yet, but worth a check at first light when catching bait. Fish seem to be in the 75-130lb range. Live threads under a cork put up big numbers for me, although a lot of guys love their cut catfish, ladyfish, and menhaden fished on the bottom. Look for these fish to really show up good in the coming weeks.
Target Species:

Snook, Tarpon, Kingfish
