Naples Florida Nearshore Fishing Report

Capt. Ted Gibson
October 3, 2016
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing in Naples has been great the last few days! Fished several artificial reefs and wrecks within 5 miles of Big Carlos Pass this past weekend. Lots of Spanish mackerel both on bait and artificial lures; we could have easily filled a five gallon bucket had we been keeping fish. Also, hooked and landed a couple over the slot Snook that were caught on white Spro jigs tipped with a piece of threadfin herring. We even dropped down a couple of the Spanish Mackerel as bait and hooked several goliath grouper landing one that approached 200 pounds! Plenty of sharks around as well although we only ended up catching small ones

Target Species:

Snook, Spanish Mackerel, Goliath Grouper

More Fishing Reports:

We fish the offshore waters of Naples, Bonita Springs, and Ft. Myers Beach. All our charters are on our 30' Intrepid Center Console powered by twin 2017 250 HP Mercury Outboard which allows us to get to the fishing areas fast and in comfort. Species of fish that you can except to encounter on our charters depend on the time of year, but include: Red Grouper, Gag Grouper, Snapper, Cobia, Snook, Sheepshead, Shark, King Fish, Goliath Grouper, and more.
