Naples Florida Offshore Fishing Report

Capt. Ted Gibson
December 6, 2016
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing yesterday with 4 anglers onboard about 20 miles from Wiggins Pass. We fished primarily over live bottom and worked our way inshore as the waves picked up throughout the day. At the furthest spot the bite was good and we had fish on every line as soon as we hit bottom. Lots of Porgies, Red Grouper (up to 19 15/16"), Kingfish (2 landed), and Mangrove Snapper (up to 17"). Dropped a couple of my fisherman down with lighter gear to target the mangroves and they started to pick them up pretty steadily. We targeted the snapper with a 15 pound mono mainline and 6 foot fluorocarbon leader with a jig just light enough to find bottom.
