Naples Mixed Bag Winter Fishing 1/29/14

Capt. Chris McCubbin
January 29, 2014
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

This week fishing was pretty consistent overall for a bit of everything. Anglers caught snook, redfish, trout, mackerel, bluefish, jewfish and jacks. I fished shrimp and jigs early and have fished live pilchards the last few days despite water temps in the mid 60's. The most action was in the deeper creeks on a incoming tide. What was weird was the places I expected to find snook and redfish were over run with jacks of all sizes. The snook were on spots that were colder and the water was cloudy. Art from Minnesota caught this big 27lb snook Monday afternoon on a live pilchard.
