Negative Tide Fishing the Troughs and Potholes of Pine Island

Jennifer Wolter
January 7, 2013
Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Jigging the troughs and potholes out on the flats on the negative low tide this past week produced dozens of redfish in the 26-28" range with a few over 30" and quality trout. Concentrate casting along the grassy edges of these areas where redfish wait to ambush. Soft plastics rigged on 1/4-1/8 oz jig heads and skimmer jigs continue to produce for us as well weighted flies in various baitfish patterns.
