Naples - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing Under the Lights of Naples Bay
Well, I guess the secret is out, There are snook under the lights in Naples Bay. In days gone by, we never talked about such things, this was a local good old boys secret. The Snook Lights were off limits to writers and or anyone that would talk about it even under hushed breath. These days the clubs in the area have outings that take you there so I guess I am not giving away a secret.
Needless to say, we had a great night. Leaving the Ramp at eight we fished until we were tired of catching fish. Fish of all sizes and variety. Not just Snook this night we also slammed with a 24 inch Redfish and Two 20 inch Sea Trout. Around Naples Sea Trout are somewhat uncommon any more, but the Reds are usually present at a few lights. The lights that are usually close to flats that the reds frequent. Snook sizes ranged from 14 inches to whopping 31 incher that we were able to turn away from the pilings.
A word to the wise if she is going for the pilings and you know you can not turn her try to go slack on her. Sometimes It helps. Please if you are going to fish the light be respectful of the owners of the property we are fishing around. They do not have to furnish these fish catching venues for us.
Thanks, Capt. Roan Z.
